Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at a charming establishment in Caerleon, I experienced an intriguing blend of traditional architecture and modern comforts. The beautiful building, set within secluded gardens by the River Usk, provided a tranquil backdrop to my visit. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a cottage room, complemented by a welcome glass of Cava. The spacious accommodations featured high-quality linen, tasteful furnishings, and a well-equipped coffee-making station, ensuring a comfortable experience. Breakfast offered a mix of delights, including unique overnight bacon alongside delightful pastries. While the overall atmosphere was pleasant, I did find the glass screens at the reception area a bit challenging for communication. I appreciated the assurance provided by visible safety features within the property, such as smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. A later check-out time of 11 am was beneficial for my plans, allowing for a leisurely start to my day. This stay provided a perfect base for exploring the rich history of the area while appreciating the seamless integration of old and new.
